Sample Star donates to Kayayei

Budding musician Sample Star has donated some items to head porters popularly known as 'Kayayei' at Tema Station in Accra.

The items donated includes bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, drinks among others, worth over GHS1, 000.

According to Sample Star, real name Igbise Sunday, he was motivated to make the donation because of their plight. He therefore advised and encouraged his fellow musicians in Ghana and Africa to make it their business to donate to the less privileged in the society.

Sample Star also called on the government of Ghana and other organisations to help the 'Kayayei' by providing good accommodation and proper jobs for them because "they are just like we, the musicians and politicians".

The 'Kayayei' numbering about 50 were grateful and thanked the musician for his kind gesture and also for being the first musician to make a donation to them.
