Radio Presenter Rapes On Studio Floor.

The plea of a 25 year old Radio Presenter at Radio Progress at Wa in the Upper-west region who allegedly raped a 16 year Old Girl JSS Student on a Studio Floor was refused by the Wa Community Tribunal. Kennedy Mornah was rather remanded in Prison Custody for two weeks. Mornah who works as a Presenter on Radio Progress at Wa in April this year while on duty at the Station at about 8;pm saw the victim within the vicinity of the Station and beckoned her into the Studio.

The accused is said to have given the victim money to buy him boiled rice from a nearby canteen and when she returned with the food he lured her into the studio where she was grabbed and sexually assaulted on the studio floor.

After accomplishing his desire, Mornah warned the victim never to mention it to her parents else she will die, and for fear of death she failed top disclosed the ordeal to her parents.

The victims mother reported the matter to the Women and Juvenile Unit (WAJU) of the police who issued a medical Form to her to be examined at the hospital. After the victim was examined at the Wa Regional Hospital it was detected that she was carrying a 20 week old pregnancy.

When Mornah got the hint that the case had been reported to the Police, he deserted post and went into hiding until October 5, when he resurfaced in the Company of his Lawyer.
