Pax Romana Choir raises funds

Kumasi, May 3, GNA - The Pax Romana Choir of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) International Movement of Catholic Students, has raised 20 million cedis in aid of the Child Health Department of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

The money was realised at a special choral music fiesta held at the Great Hall of the University in Kumasi at the weekend.

It brought together various singing groups including the National Orchestra Symphony, the Winneba Youth Choir and the Saint Peter's Basilica Men's Choir.

The groups treated the large audience to inspirational songs drawing prolong applauses.

Mr Matthew Lucky Lumorvi, President of Pax Romana, in a welcoming address, said the decision to organise the programme was to help complement efforts at promoting child health in the country. He called on the wealthy in society to be more supportive of the socially disadvantage and assist to improve conditions at the country's hospitals.
