Our culture frowns on nudity - Chairman of FIPAG

Mr. Hackman Chairman of FIPAG Mr. Hackman Chairman of FIPAG

Nudity has for some time now taken absolute control of our movie industry.

The rampant act of nudity maybe blamed on the demand coming in from the general public , the selfish interest of movie produres but others also blame it on the enticing package such roles in movies comes with , well in an exclusive interview with the chairman of Film Producers Association Of Ghana, Mr Hackman by the host of Storm fm's Entertainment Extra Dj Murphy Lee , last Saturday condemned the act , saying "Nudity is against the norms and culture of our tradition as Ghanaians.

I wish such acts won't be seen in our movies , but some movie producers are still producing it, well I blame it on the recent media saying in Ghana "bad news sells" , He stated.

He further went on to describe the rampant situation on lack of structures and laws to govern the movie industry, and that the only law to govern the movie industry or producers is currently in parliament and they hope the law will be passed to help curve issues of nudity in our movies Industry.

Mr. Hackman went on appealing to all television companies in Ghana to set up committees to help analyse and regulate the movies they show on their platform.

Well, is it the best solution? One may wonder, what happens to movies selling on the market? It's sad to see young ones below the age of eighteen (18) years stand at movie selling joints to watch and buy movies without any interrogation.

From a far point of view It seems the production of movies and the structures in producing good and quality movies is dead and the business has turned into a one man job resulting into what we are seeing in our movies and on our television sets now.
