Urban Radio Y107.9FM is to introduce a new show on its airwaves. Dubbed 'Lyricist Lounge', the show would pitch two and sometimes three rappers to spit bars live on radio every late night on Thursdays.

The host of the show, OgeeTheMC talks about the show, inspiration and format;

‘’I’m a hype man for shows and artists and I believe most of my fans have seen me do my thing on most of the biggest platforms in Ghana, from the 4syte MVAs, Ghana meets Naija, Rapperholic Concert, E.L’s BAR concert, Stonebwoy’s Go Higher Tour in Ashaiman, all YFM stages.. just to mention but a few.

Lyricist Lounge is a type of rap show that is here to stay and I'm very happy that I'm hosting a big interesting show on the urban radio show because listeners are all super interested which I only started last two weeks ago and the love is crazy.

Awal has been in the studio, budding rappers like 2Fyngers, Ticles, Legit and CJ Biggerman have all been on already. Koo Ntakra and Medikal will be on soon, then the climax goes on and on. And it's not only mainstream rappers I am hyping on the show but mainly for underground rappers to be discovered.

Ever since I started the show, rappers been flooding my inbox and giving me calls and I love the response already because they all find it a good chance for them to step into the limelyte.

I also bring mainstream rappers and merge with one underground, so basically sometimes two mainstream rappers and one underground or even the other way round.

Now people are excited that urban radio like YFM has a show like this and it's more like they have been waiting on this type of show for a minute so yes, I’m promising Ghanaians this show is here to stay and it relates to me most because way back in high school when I used to host school entertainment nights, I did host rap battles a lot after school hours which was every Friday and students used to come a lot and trust me even teachers who could relate with what I was doing were in the crowd too.

Between, it's all love on the show, no battle, beef or cuss rap because I'm proving Ghana got talent and that's all I'm preaching on my show and it's on my show they will discover it. Now the other question is will I bring on dancehall artists?...

It’s a yes I'm working on it and now I can boldly say this one of the biggest show in the making to be hosted on radio and coming from YFM means a lot’’.
