No African beauty made it to the top 16 as Miss Venezuela Gabriela Isler crowned Miss Universe 2013

Last night (November 9) in Moscow, Russia, Gabriela Isler of Venezuela was crowned Miss Universe 2013.

The 25 year old TV personality beat 85 contestants to take home the crown.

Sadly none of the African beauty queens, including Ghana’s rep Jamin Hanniel made it into the last top 16.

The 1st runner up is Miss Spain, 2nd runner up Miss Ecuador, 3rd runner up is Miss Philippines and 4th runner up Miss Brazil.

The judges were Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler, Russian pop king Philipp Kirkorov, Chef Nobu, Ice skating gold medalist Tara Lipinski, Italo Fontana, model Anne V, Carol Alt and Farouk Shami.

US TV presenter Thomas Roberts and ex-Spice Girls Mel B hosted the pageant.
