New Ghana book 'FaceOff' ranks 7th in Amazon West Africa Travels

FaceOff with the International FaceOff with the International

A new book, scheduled to be launched in Accra this Friday June 23rd, has climbed to the top ten best books currently trending on Amazon, in the West Africa Travels category. Titled FaceOff with the International ‘MP’, the 290-page work ranked 7th last Monday two weeks after being placed on the global chart.

FaceOff with the International ‘MP’ is a compilation of social commentaries, short stories, drama, different purposed letters and jest, all garnished with mix of satire.

The author, Rodney Nkrumah-Boateng, is a trained legal practitioner who currently works in the office of the Minister of Education. His guise in his Facebook engagements is ‘Member of Parliament for Facebook South’ which has enthralled his online followers, referred to as his constituents. For over eight years, Rodney’s posting have pleased and irked many in equal measure.

In this third book, Nkrumah-Boateng has been described as “a reverently irreverent writer who pulls no punches, wears no kids’ gloves, bars no holds and suffers no fools gladly”, and for whom there is no topic he is shy to address.

In a review of the book ahead of its release, the Vice President of IMANI, Kofi Bentil said, “Nkrumah-Boateng uniquely mixes truth and poetic satire: his wit, crisp humour, eloquence and fluid writing style, and the heretical elegance with which he makes his points, makes you want to kick something…Little wonder a major radio station mistook his satirical narrative as fact, and serialised it on radio!”

According to DAkpabli & Associates, the publishers, the new book is available in both e-book and paperback formats on Amazon, iBooks, Storefoundry (operating out of Ghana and selling paperbacks) and other online platforms globally. In a statement released in Accra, DAkpabli expressed the expectation that FaceOff with the International ‘MP’ will make inroads to non-traditional markets. “This is our modest effort to bring refreshing change to the literary landscape.’’

FaceOff with the International ‘MP’ will be launched on 23rd June 2017 at 6:00 pm at Christ the King Parish Hall, opposite the Flagstaff House. Admission is free. End.
