Multichoice donates to Anastasis

Accra, Sept. 22, GNA - Multichoice Ghana has donated DStv hardware and subscription to the crew of Anastasis, the Mercy Ship, which has docked at Tema till February 2007 to offer free surgery and care to disadvantaged Ghanaians, who do not have access to or cannot afford medical treatment.

Mercy Ships, a global charity, has operated a growing fleet of hospital ships in developing nations since 1978. Mercy Ships mobilize people and resources worldwide to serve all people without regard for race, gender or religion. Their goal is to serve one million people a year.

=93Multichoice Ghana is proud to be able to give back to these selfless volunteers on the Mercy Ship, who are so tirelessly giving their time and expertise to the people of Ghana,=94 an official statement from Multichoice on Friday said. Since 1978, they have impacted over 5.5 million people and delivered more than 21 million dollars of medical equipment, hospital supplies and medicines.

It has also completed close to 350 construction and agriculture projects including schools, clinics, orphanages and potable water.
