Man, 22, defiles child, 11

Accra, Sept. 11, GNA - An Accra Circuit Court on Thursday remanded a 22-year-old man in prison custody for defiling an 11-year-old girl. The Judge, Mrs Elizabeth Ankomah remanded Awal Ahmad in custody to reappear on September 23.

The Prosecutor, Police Inspector Mary Agbozo said that at about 1830 hours on the August 20, the victim, was going to the public toilet when the accused person lured her into a nearby kiosk and forcibly defiled her.

She said the victim's uncle noticed on August 26 that Sara was walking with difficulty, which was unusual.

She was questioned and she broke her silence. The accused was arrested.

The victim stated that the accused defiled her several times, hence her predicament.
