Lecturer's van stolen at University of Ghana campus

A Chevrolet mini-van belonging to Rev Dr Samuel Asuming-Brempong of the Department of Agricultural Economics, University of Ghana, Legon, was on Wednesday stolen from a car park at the campus.

Rev Asuming-Brempong told the Ghana News Agency on Thursday that his wife, Dr Stella Asuming-Brempong, also a lecturer, parked the van with registration number GT 7273 Q behind the Akuafo Hall to conduct a class at the Soil Science Department.

He said when she returned around noon to drive home, the van was nowhere to be found.

Rev Asuming-Brempong said since he and his wife had separate keys to the vehicle, she presumed that he might have driven it somewhere.

"It was later in the evening when I returned home from lectures without the van that my wife realised that it had been stolen," he said. Dr Asuming-Brempong described the van as grey in colour with a sloppy face and tinted glasses.

The Legon police are investigating the matter.
