Juju fails butcher

Tongo (UE/R) Feb.17 GNA - A 28-year-old butcher, Mr Bugre Gban, who hails from Tongo, near Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region is alleged to have ended his life, when he attempted to test his juju by stabbing himself to death.

Narrating the incident to Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Tongo, some of the family members, indicated that Bugre came home from Accra for the performance of his father's funeral, Mr Maldima Gban, and in the course of performing rituals in the night he stabbed himself to death.

In an interview with some of the community members it was alleged that such a thing was very common in the area, especially during the performance of funerals, where people try to test their powers. When GNA contacted the police they confirmed the story and said investigation was going on to unravel the cause of death. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Bolgatanga Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
