Joselyn Dumas donates GH¢1000 to children’s ward

Actress and TV personality, Joselyn Dumas brought joy to some patients in the Children’s Block of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, when she donated food items, drinks and toiletries to the ward on Boxing Day, December 26.

The host of Viasat 1’s talk show, ‘The One Show’ also made a donation of GH¢ 1000 to the Children’s ward and explained: “ Christmas is a time of giving and giving selflessly, and as I did the usual partying, I realized the need to impact certain lives. I started a campaign on Twitter, encouraging people to put a smile on the faces of people this Christmas, so I decided to do just that for the children in the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.”

According to Joselyn, the look on the faces of the children as she toured the wards confirmed that indeed they appreciated her gesture and that felt rewarding for her. She hinted that although she isn’t against the idea of other celebrities setting up charity foundations, she believes that celebrities could also help or donate to existing charities/foundations rather than setting up their own foundations.

Jocelyn Dumas and her team will be making donations an identified charity every Easter and Christmas. The donations to the Children’s Block of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, was part of Citi FM’s ‘Help Christmas Child Project’ where the station organized a party for the children of the hospital. Also present was Miss Universe Ghana 2011, Yayra Nego, Shamima Muslim, and Jessica Opare-Saforo
