I.C Quaye celebrates his national honours

Accra, July 10, GNA - Sheikh I.C Quaye, Greater Accra Regional Minister, on Thursday said the discovery of oil in Ghana was a blessing to the nation and called for the proper management of its revenue to benefit posterity.

Sheikh I.C Quaye said this at a reception at his residence in Accra where he dinned with Muslim scholars to celebrate the conferment of the Order of the Volta-Companion, on him by President J. A. Kufuor recently. The occasion also marked his 20th anniversary as Sheikh.

He said the country needed peace especially during this election year and called on Christians and Muslims to come together and dialogue for the common good of the nation. "Islam has thought us to tolerate any human being".

Alhaji Sani Abdulai, Second Deputy Chief Imam, Western Region, represented the national Chief Imam at the event.
