'Hitz FM Is Cursed”-Gabby Arku

In the heat of the world cup your most authentic Flex Newspaper bounced on one of the vibrant presenters with Top Radio popularly called Gabby but known to family and friends as Gabriel Arku.

Gabby was officially trained by KSM When he was with Vibe fm. “He wanted to start his own radio station so I understudied him”he revealed. He continued that from Vibe fm he came to Radio Hitz now Hitz fm. When Multimedia took over he had to move to Asempa to help build the station and later came back to Hitz fm but for now he is running things with Top Radio 103.1fm.

When this reporter asked why he had to leave Hitz fm, this was what he had for the public. “I left Hitz fm because I believe the station is under a curse and has lost focus. Hitz fm isn’t stable now” he added.

Gabby continued that when Multimedia bought Hitz fm, all the veteran staffs and pastors who were then preaching on the station were sacked leaving him alone and since then everything started going wrong."Pastors started cursing the station and its working on them now. Asempa is doing well now than Hitz fm but Hitz gave birth to Asempa" he added.

The gospel presenter’s advice for Hitz fm management was that they should get a good pastor to deliver them from the curse put on them by the former workers and the pastors. He insisted that they should listen to his advice because he started Hitz fm.

Answering a question on his most defining moment as a presenter, he responded that he had always wanted to help the growth of gospel and it was Radio Hitz that gave him the opportunity to achieve that.

Touching on the current Ghanaian music trend, the veteran presenter said that GH music is marking time. “In the year 2000 only few musicians were making it. Sound quality has improved but its left with the lyrics with respect to gospel music.

People write songs because they think they have good voice” he revealed.Beside his radio business Gabby has his own advertising agency called Adfirst Consult Agency which deals in personal advertisement.

His advice to people who look up to him is that they should understudy people they want to look up to since he believes KSM contributed to his success.
