Gideon Aryeequaye Files Nomination Today

Information gathered by Peacefmonline.com reveals that sweet faced broadcast journalist and newscaster, Gideon Aryeequaye of etv-Ghana will today Friday September 16, 2011, file his nomination as an aspirant for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary seat for Weija constituency.

The handsome TV News anchor is expected to be joined by very large supporters from the Weija constituency, as he moves to contest eight other people.

Confirming this information, Gideon said in an interview with The Weekend Moment, that he is the most credible person to wrestle the seat which is currently being occupied by New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Member of Parliament, Hon. Ayorkor Botwe.

“I am the most credible person among all the contestants. I am more than battle ready to win the Weija constituency seat for the NDC. “It will not be an easy contest but I’m more than certain to come out as the people’s choice not because I am a popular television star but as the most credible candidate among the rest” Gideon Aryeequaye said in his usual soft voice.

Gideon Aryeequaye, until he moved to EtvGhana, worked with TV3 as a newscaster. He also worked at Happy Fm, as host of World@Five, a current affairs program.

Aside that, Gideon writes scripts for movies, jingles and produces TV commercials. He attended the Koforidua Secondary Technical, from where he proceeded to the University of Ghana, Legon where he read chemistry and later had short refresher courses in media broadcast at the University of East London.

The ladies’ man Gideon Aryeequaye was awarded the best TV personality and newscaster award in both 2001 and 2004 and also won award recently for Television Newscaster of the Year (Male) at the year’s maiden edition of Radio and Television Awards 2011.
