Ghana2008: Ultimate Fashions launches T-shirts

Kumasi, Dec 10, GNA - Ultimate Fashions, a renowned fashion shop in Kumasi, one of the official producers of the tournament wear of Ghana 2008 African Cup of Nations in collaboration with the Local Organising Committee (LOC) at the weekend launched 40 kinds of shirts and other souvenirs for the tournament in Kumasi.

The merchandise which included polo shirts, baseball caps, T-shirts and others, designed and embroiled with the national colours, sell between GH=A28 and GH=A215 is meant to attract prospective distributors to market the official goods.

Mr Bright Kankam-Boadu, Marketing Manager of Ultimate Fashions, at the official launch said the company had the sole right to sell the products, advising that anyone or group who want to sell any of the of the products must first seek for consent before doing so. He called on Ghanaians and the football fraternity to support the company by buying the products from the right sources as well be on the look out for any imitations and fake goods.

Mr Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, Ashanti Regional Minister, in a speech read on his behalf warned that anybody found with any form of pirated merchandise of the soccer fiesta would face the full rigors of the law.

He also advised fans against painting their bodies in the national colours or any of the African colours but to instead consider wearing the official prescribed dresses launched for the tournament.

Mr Osei Poku, Attorney of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, (KMA) reminded landlords in the Metropolis of their task to paint their buildings as part of their efforts to supporting the Assembly to beautify the Metropolis before the deadline of December 31.

Mr Charles Obeng-Sarpong, Manager for the Kumasi Venue Organising Committee (KVOC), advised the supporting public and the rest of Ghanaians to help build a good image of the country as the host country by behaving well so as not to soil the country's image.

Meanwhile a release from the LOC copied to the GNA Sports indicates that the exhibition will also be held in the other two venue cities of Sekondi-Takoradi On Friday, December 14 and Tamale on Friday, December 21.
