Ghana's Poetry Magazine to Focus on Nkrumah

*One Ghana, One Voice **will run tributes to Nkrumah throughout July*

As part of the celebrations of the 48th Anniversary of the Republic, *One Ghana, One Voice*, Ghana's only poetry magazine, is launching a month-long tribute to Kwame Nkrumah.

Poems and commentary on Nkrumah will be featured on the *One Ghana, One Voice* website (http://oneghanaonevoice.com) every Saturday between July 5th and August 2nd, 2008.

Contributors to the tribute include established Ghanaian poets like Prince Mensah of Accra and up-and-comers, such as 19-year old Reggie Kyere of Kumasi.

When asked about the importance of a poetic tribute to Nkrumah, Prince Mensah noted, "I think Nkrumah's plight in Ghanaian history can be equated to a great prophet who has no honor in his own land. While other leaders have been sanitized by sympathetic historians, Nkrumah's legacy is rendered in half-truths and exaggerations. I hope Ghanaians realize the global impact of Nkrumah's legacy, because he inspired a lot of people worldwide."

This will be *One Ghana, One Voice*'s second themed tribute, following a very successful theme issue of poems on Keta in January 2008.
