Exhibition on Kente opens at Bonwire

Bonwire (Ash), Oct 14, GNA- The chiefs and people of Bonwire in the Ejisu-Juaben District, on Wednesday initiated a week-long exhibition to showcase the splendour of the native kente cloth.

About 50 exhibitors displayed various types of woven kente and other traditional products such as slippers; hats; neck- ties; beads, cowries and traditional drums.

The exhibition attracted large patronage from local and foreign visitors.

Mr. Yaw Ahenkora Afrifa, the District Chief Executive, who presented a cheque of 10 million cedis to the planners of the exhibition, said the District Assembly would construct a Tourist Centre to help in the marketing of the products on display.
