Elikem's Pokello takes employee to court over shoe theft

Like her Twitter profile says, Pokello Nare will ‘not be bullied into silence’; this was proven when she decided to report one of her employees to the authorities over theft.

Nare appeared at the court in Harare yesterday to testify against the shop assistant who had allegedly stolen a pair of shoes worth US$60 from her Addicted 2 Shoes store which is based at the Long Cheng Plaza in Belvedere, zimbabwelatestnews.com reports.

Diana Rukezo (35) was reportedly found guilty of the crime and sentenced to 140 hours of community service.

According to the report, the magistrate sentenced Rukezo to eight months in prison, three of which were suspended on condition of good behaviour in the next three years.

The other two months were suspended on condition that she pay back the value of the stolen shoes and serve 140 hours of community service.

In what may be seen as a swipe at her former employee, Pokello posted “Don't abuse a kind heart. U may never be offered one again!” on her twitter account on Wednesday.

The former Big brother Africa contestant herself is a self confessed shoe addict and has according to bulawayo24.com previously boasted of owning over 200 pairs of designer heels and confessed to buying about 7 pairs of shoes per month.
