Kumawood actor, Frank Naro, has opined that the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is responsible for the ongoing power outages in the country and not President Akufo-Addo.

He made these remarks while criticizing the ECG for the frequent power outages that have been occurring throughout the country.

"The frequent power outages are detrimental, and the leadership at ECG needs to intensify their efforts because the government isn't to blame; the responsibility lies with ECG.

"They have been commendable in their efforts thus far, but they need to go the extra mile because our reliance on electricity is so high that its absence is causing significant damage," he stated during an interview with Property FM in Cape Coast.

The actor cum musician also highlighted that the ongoing power interruptions have further compounded the difficulties faced by Ghanaians amidst economic hardships.

He illustrated the severity of the situation by saying, "Consider someone who, despite the economic challenges, manages to purchase prepaid electricity to conduct their business, only to find there's no power to earn and cover their expenses."

"We implore them to take further action to ensure we have a consistent power supply across the nation," he added.

Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, assured Ghanaians during his campaign tour in the Eastern Region that the power crisis would soon be resolved promptly.
