Darko-Ampem crowned "Face of Black's Secret 2010"

Accra, April 26, GNA - Ms Nyarkor Darko-Ampem, a Student of Central University College, has been crowned "Face of Black's Secret 2010", makin= g her the face-model and spokesperson for Black's Secret range of make-up products.

Ms Darko-Ampem, who displayed exceptional talent in the individual performance segment as well as a high sense of intelligence, during missi= on statement presentations, beat 13 other contestants at the grand finale on=

Sunday in Accra, to clinch the coveted crown.

For emerging tops, Ms Darko-Ampem makes history as the first winner of the maiden event, organized by Berlin Investments Limited, a Ghanaian own= ed company, dealing in make-up range of products. For her prize, she took home a brand new KIA CERATO Saloon car, GHc6,000 annual allowance, and is also entitled to Black's Secret make-up=

products for a year, a brand endorsement contract for a year and other prizes from sponsors.

Ms Geraldine Partington and Ms Jasmine Nkrumah, both students of the=

University of Ghana, who emerged first and second runners-up respectively= , also took home GHc 1500 and GHc 1000, including other consolation prizes from the sponsors.

The rest of the contestants, who received consolation prizes from sponsors and make-up products from the company, also stand the chance of being involved in advertisements of Black's Secret make-up brand. Berlin Investment Limited, in January this year, launched the model search event, which was in line with its commitment to using local materi= als to build its emerging international brand of make-up products. In an interview with the Ghana News Agency shortly after being crown= ed, Ms Darko-Ampem said her immediate plans was to educate women on the dange= rs of bleaching and the need to use Black's Secret products, which gives a natural appeal to skins of all types and colour. Mr Bernard Kingsley Annoh, Chief Executive of Berlin Investments Limited said he was happy at the overwhelming endorsement that the compan= y's range of products had received from not only in Ghana but all over the world, adding that, "this is the beginning of yet another Ghanaian succes= s story". Mr Annoh said, in the course of the year, the company would introduc= e other products to solve the beauty needs of black African women and women= of colour. He said the company would also, later this year, begin training interested persons in make-up artistry and beauty therapy, to enable them= to open their own shops.

country late last year with the introduction of make-up range of products= , including Cr=E8me to Powder Foundation, Pressed Powder, Loose Powder, Eyeshadow, Mascara and Liquid Foundation.
