Camidoh’s Sugarcane beats Sarkodie’s Adonai as Ghana’s most viewed video on YouTube

The remix video of Camidoh's global hit song 'Sugarcane', which featured Mayorkun, King Promise, and Darkoo, has become the most viewed Ghanaian music video on YouTube.

Currently hovering around 97,621,923 views and still counting, the 'Sugarcane' remix officially surpassed Sarkodie's 'Adonai', which featured Castro, on Friday, May 10, 2024, to become the most viewed Ghanaian music video on the streaming platform.

Uploaded in June 2014, 'Adonai' was the most viewed Ghanaian music video for the better part of the last 9 years. 'Adonai' currently has 97,467,814 views and is still counting.

The remix of 'Sugarcane' was uploaded to YouTube on June 7, 2022, and thus took under two years to achieve the feat of becoming the most viewed Ghanaian music video.

The song, which was released after the original version, has become a global hit and has gone on to win several awards over the period.
