The band from Accra Academy Senior High School beat off competition from five other schools to emerge winners of the High School Edition of the Vodafone Icons competition held at the Accra International Conference Centre last Tuesday.

The Bleoo boys beat Osei Tutu and Adisadel College in Round Two of the finals to win the coveted music studio and priding rights to represent Ghana at the Global Vodafone High School Competition to be held in Turkey.

Dressed in slavery wear, the Accra Aca boys made their school proud as they performed the song “Jailer” by Nigerian artiste, Asa to thrill the enthusiastic crowd.

Osei Tutu Senior High School from the Ashanti Region and Adisadel College from the Central Region placed second and third respectively.

The grand finale of the much-talked about entertainment show hosted Osei Tutu, Christian Methodist, Adisadel College, Presec Legon, and Opoku Ware.

Earlier, 2014 winner of Vodafone Icons, Chris dazzled the audience with an electrifying performance of his Otega track.

Individual awards for the day

Best male vocalist—Isaac Nyamekye (Christian Methodist School)

Best Instrumentalist—Yaw Obeng Boateng (Osei Tutu SHS)

Overall excellence award—Okuapeman School
