After Ghana Music Honours at the National Theater on March 4 and an Industry Seminar at the British Council on March 7, the 5th edition of the annual Ghana Music Week Festival wraps with two major Concerts at the BlackStar Square this weekend.

On Friday March 10, 2017- over 30 of Ghana’s finest artistes will perform on the Reggae/Dancehall & Hiplife Nite from 6pm till the early hours of Saturday. Performing on Friday Nite include Samini, Jupitar, A.K Songstress, MzVee, Ras Kuuku, Knii Lante and many more. This would be beamed live at www.facebook.com/ghanamusicweek

The excitement continues with the celebration of music and dance from all 10 regions of Ghana during the day on Saturday. Also on Saturday would be the #SkullMusicChallenge from 1pm to 5pm.

From 6pm on Saturday, March 11, 2017, we return to the main stage with over 30 artistes performing on the Highlife, Afro-beat and Gospel Nite. Performers on this night include Pat Thomas, Okyeame Kwame, Nana Ampadu, K.K Fosu, Kofi B, Tagoe Sisters, Joe Mettle plus more. This would be live on GH-One TV, GMW’s Officially Exclusive Broadcast Partner.

“We promised 60 artistes on Ghana’s 60th Anniversary, but we would deliver over 75 in two days. It is worth knowing that all the musicians on the bill are performing at no charge as their contribution to the music industry while the #Ghana60Years Planning Committee are supporting the cost of production” says Irene Ama Otchere of the Communication team of Showbiz Africa, co-organisers of GMW. Artistes would be backed by Patch Bay Band, Rainbow Generation, Big Hills and Shabbo Band.

Brought to you by the Musicians Union of Ghana, Showbiz Africa, Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Starr FM, Live FM, GH-One TV and Kasapa Radio, 2017 GMW Festival is powered by #Ghana60YearsOn.
