Government Must Expedite Action On Sada-Akilu Sayibu

An aspiring NPP parliamentary candidate for the Tamale North constituency Mr. Akilu Sayibu has called on the government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to move away from unfounded excuses to realistic implementation of the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority Fund (SADA) to help alleviate poverty and accelerate the development of the North without further delay.

Mr. Akilu Sayibu who was speaking to the media in Tamale wondered why the SADA bill was passed into law in July 2010 and yet realistic as well as convincing measures were not put in place to enable the people of the North to begin to enjoy the benefits of the SADA fund. He has therefore called on all who cares about the development of the three Northern regions to join him to put pressure on government to make SADA a reality.

Mr. Sayibu Akilu also called on the government of the NDC to revisit the issue of the seed money of SADA which was a different figure in the NDC manifesto of 2008 and another figure at the time of the passing of the SADA bill. The statement also called on government to fast track the migration of teachers onto the single-spine salary structure to avoid future disruption of the academic calendar of educations institutions in the country without further delay.
