Kumasi, June 6, GNA - The Coalition of Zongo Social Clubs (CZSC) in Kumasi has reiterated the call on the National Executive Council and the Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to consider a Muslim from the north as running mate to Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2008 general elections.

In a statement jointly signed by Alhaji Ghana, Chairman, Alhaji Awudu Dawuni, Co-ordinator and Mr C.K Sulemana, Secretary on Thursday, the Zongo clubs support Alhaji Saddique Boniface describing him as a humble, self motivated, respectable and hard working person who is a winner in political field.

According to them, Alhaji Boniface is a potential crowd puller and a linguistic personality both local and foreign and his choice as a running mate to Nana Akuffo Addo, would ensure total victory for the party.

The clubs also expressed their sincere thanks to Nana Akufo-Addo for completing the regional office of the Ashanti Regional Council of ULAMAU at the Kumasi central mosque and provided them with a complete set of computer.

They pledged their support to Nana Akufo-Addo.

In a related development, Mr Kwame Boateng, alias Motako, former assembly member for Abirem-Nwamase in the Kwabre District had added his voice to the call on Nana Akufo-Addo to choose Alhaji Boniface as his running mate.

He said as it had always been the tradition of the party, the choice of Alhaji Boniface would only go to confirm the historical precedence in the party and helped strengthened the unity among members from the south and north.

According to Mr Boateng, Alhaji Boniface had demonstrated a lot of hard work and commitment, which made him affable and attractive to almost all Ghanaians and there was the need for the party to take advantage of his popularity to win the elections.
