Agona East NPP raises funds in aid of Office complex

Agona Kwanyako C/R, May 15, GNA - The Agona East Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is building a 500 million- cedi office complex at Agona Nsaba, the constituency headquarters. Nana Kojo Frempong, the Chairman of the constituency branch of the party, told the GNA in an interview that this would stop members from trooping to the houses of the MP, the DCE and the Chairman of the constituency to discuss party matters.

The constituency would organize a fund raising harvest in aid of the office complex on Saturday, May 19 to help complete it by the end of the year.

The office complex would include a conference hall, DCE's office, MP's Office, Chairman's office, visitors' rooms and a library. He said the constituency had also intended to embark on the commercial ventures to help improve the financial position of the party. Nana Frempong said the retention of the seat would need hard work, honesty, unity and co-operation among the constituency executives and polling station executives.

He said the executives of the branch have embarked on programme to empower the polling station executives and other members economically to enable them work hard to win 2008 elections.

Nana Frempong said the party would no longer give loans and other financial assistance to the party members and that the party had decided to explore more financial avenues to support the members.
