Apraku unshaken by Akufo-Addo's declaration - Aide

The Office of Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku says the former flagbearer aspirant is unperturbed by the announcement by two-time flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo, to contest for the same ticket again in 2016.

Dr. Apraku directed Nana Akufo-Addo’s campaign in 2012 and now wants to run for president on the ticket of the NPP.

Nana Akufo-Addo is expected to receive opposition from Dr. Apraku whose aide Denis Kobina, in an interview with XYZ News, said his boss is in a better position to win power for the main opposition New Patriotic Party in 2016.

“NPP is a democratic party and not like other parties where somebody can impose somebody on you. So we are all going to contest and my boss is going to contest. Nana Addo and Dr. are brothers and we are going to contest our senior brother [Nana Addo],” Dennis Kobina said.

Nana Addo will be attempting to lead his party into the 2016 general elections for the third time. The Former Attorney General told his supporters at his Nima residence in Accra that he has a strong indication within him to aspire to lead Ghana.

Meanwhile, Presidential Staffer Dr. Clement Apaak says President Mahama is not worried about Nana Akufo-Addo’s announcement to lead the NPP in 2016.

According to him, the president would have delivered on his mandate by 2016 to merit retention in office, thus, effectively retiring Nana Addo from active politics.
