For your information, the EOCO, BNI, and CID of the Ghana police service and other investigations arm of the government are not obliged by the constitution to prosecute criminal cases, they rather investigate cases and forward the dockets and files to the Attorney Generals department, for prosecutions. So the notions that the cases involving Dr. Opuni and others, who have been called by the EOCO and BNI; to answer questions bordering on their involvements in cases of corruption, are left on the hook or to go scot free is flawed. What l can say is that, most of these cases have been referred to the Attorney General for prosecutions: but due to the volume of backlog of cases waiting to investigated by the latter, it would take a while for these cases to be reopened, And due to these delays the President has proposed to set up the office of the much anticipated Special Prosecutors office to facilitate a speedy prosecution of these cases. Now that the parliament is back from their recess, the deliberations on the Special Prosecutors Office is set to take off. I can't wait to see some heads roll !!!
