Zambia and South Africa recently battled army worms. This would not have happened if they had planted GM seeds. Lots of Ghanaians know next to nothing. CRI has been giving us a lot of hybrid seeds, all through their research. Go find out how they did it.

the ignorant guys chapping we they don't want GMOs better know that you can not change any living organisms such as food crops to suit weather conditions without modifying its genetic material, the DNA. If we can genetically modify cotton to get good harvest we can produce all the clothing we wear and create more jobs.

Good news fr our hardwrking farmers who re punished yearly fr no fault of theirs because of short dry spells that comes every August of the cropping season. Most of our varieties are unable to stand two weeks drought and ultimately succumbed to withering and resultant poor harvest, aflatoxin contamination and renders the farmer poorer. Hope these varieties should have short maturity periods as it is clear that, the reality of climate change can no more be questioned. They should also be high yielding asmost of the varieties in ghana apart frm Pan 12 and Pan 53 which are hybrids frm SA which gives 8-9 tons per ha. with good fert application as they response well with fert and the religous adherenceto all agronomic practices associated with these hybrid varieties. As a farmer am highly elated and kudos to SARI and partners. Kpariba faako amaaraaaaaabaaaaa!!!!

Thank God that modern applied science, at least in the Agric sector, is taking off in Ghana. I hope the cattle ranching sector will also follow suit and get rid of the Fulani pastoral cattle type of ranching for good!
