There could be one other location in Accra to decongest the present Registrar General's Office. One other in Tema, should be welcome news to persons and companies, showing lots of interest, in the new government's vision, to grow the economy through private initiative. When networked, all other regional capitals should have functioning RG offices. This is a manifest change in government view, of what business is going to be like in coming days, hopefully.

Well done, Your Excellency ! More of those! Please visit the Kumasi circuit court A and see for urself the rot that's going on there.
A man defrauded my husband and the court found him guilty. He has paid the money to the court but till date, we're yet to receive our money. This happened abt 6 months ago. The state attorney in Kumasi alone took Gh5000 ( five thousand Gh cedis) before he signed the documents. ( He will surely receive his punishment!!!) I curse him everyday! I know his end is near. They connive with the bank into which the money is paid( GCB near the court) and they start tossing you. God will surely punish them!
In all these, u don't even know who to report to. The police? They'll collect it,as we all know. The judge who gave the judgment? Hmmmm.... let's not go there. U can't go with empty hands. It's so pathetic! Meanwhile, these are workers who are paid at the end of every month for the work they do yet, if you don't bribe them, they won't work on ur case. God help us!

The business registration act is too old. Also the illiterate works have their own illegal interpretations of obscure processes.
For example the Act requires new businesses to be registered WITHIN 14 days of starting operation. Staff interpret this to mean "...on the 14th day of establishing a business". So if you attempt to register your new business earlier than the 14th day you will have to bribe an illiterate officer.
Secondly, why is Ghana the only country where businesses NEED to be renewed annually?
In other countries where I have previously operated my business there was no requirement to renew my business annually. Instead, I was expected to file taxes annually until I choose to voluntarily delete my business from the register.
Where is the logic in spending resources to chase businesses to renew registration when we could be spending the same resources to get them to file taxes?
