Thank God John Painstil 's sister is coming out with a different version of the story. Ghana Police can never be trusted for even one second. My good friend went through the same nasty ordeal.
The IGP need to investigate this matter himself to let justice prevail because we cannot afford to live with criminals in police uniforms. As for the prostitute who call herself a wife or whatever, all what she can do is to give free pussy to any dog in uniform but it is the end that matters.

I have read many of the comments on John Paintsil's arrest. It's unfortunate that many people are just lambasting, and even in some cases plainly insulting the Ghana Police Service, out of IGNORANCE. For the sake of all those who do not know or understand what is meant by STEALING in our laws, it is defined as "the dishonest appropriation of a thing of which one is NOT THE OWNER". SO it is possible for a person to steal a thing he has bought as a gift to someone. The explanation is that if you give me a gift and I thank you, ownership of that thing passes to me. It is no longer yours.
Secondly, it is also possible to steal a thing of which you are a part owner. So the argument that a man cannot be said to have stolen property belonging to his wife after they are wedded because the vehicle belongs to both of them does not preclude the Police from investigating the case.
Let us however remember that this is just a complaint that has been lodged by the wife which THE POLICE ARE BOUND BY LAW TO INVESTIGATE.
The poor officers of the East Legon formation of the Ghana Police Service are just doing their job, which, as can be seen is already frustrating, risky and dangerous. If we cannot have any kind words of encouragement for them we must let them to do their job. WE SHOULD NOT INSULT THEM in our ignorance!!
