AUTHOR : SULE ---------------In the 8 years that the Kufuor administration was in power, the country went HIPC and the NPP gov't put in place the needed policies and programs as well as pragmatic social intervention programs, and they made it clear that, they were not going to deal with these Bretton woods institutions. The economy grew and as at the time the Kufuor gov't was leaving power in 2008, Ghana was rated as a lower middle income economy.
In comes the dimwitted NDC gov't, and the results are there for all to see. During the administration of Kufuor, the Bretton woods institutions were there, but they had to beg to get Kufuor's gov't to listen to them and what they had on offer.
The current situation is just like the 80's and 90's when we had the PNDC and NDC gov'ts.
It is an undisputable fact that, the P(NDC) gov't does not have the mental capacity, acuity and the requisite brain power as well as the drive to achieve anything. They are simply inept and grossly incompetent and this is an undisputable fact. Governance is a serious business not for dimwits and the earlier, we all came to terms with this basic fact, the better it would be for our socio-economic developmental agenda.

When Mills was alive, we had people who loved him, admired him, supported him and wished him well on the one hand and people who hated him, opposed him, and wished him evil and even dead on the other. Those who wished him evil, including the NPP, had falsely rumoured his death several times before his actual death because the late president was battling with a bad medical condition. His sudden death, therefore, should not have been any surprise to these people but surprisingly they are rather the persons who are suspecting foul play in the late president's death. This shows their true intention to wish evil for the late president throughout his life and in his death. This is mischievous and hypocritical.

The death of Mills was long in coming and even many NPP leaders had suggested it before it happened. NPP leadership had persistently questioned the health of Mills, and pressed for him to relinquish the Presidency before his end. The same sources of concern in NPP over Mills's health had suggested to the Public that it was due to Mill's failing health that most of his duties had been subordinated to incompetent Officials. In a gist, these NPP folks had wanted to establish that the Nation was not in good stead because the President's poor health had distracted him from close supervision of the Nation's affairs.
It was this pressure from the NPP that prompted the late President to fake perfect health by jogging on the Runway of the Kotoka International Airport, upon his return from his last overseas medical check.
Furthermore, what took this caller so long to push for another multi-partisan supervised autopsy to establish the exact cause of death if he or she did not believe the Government's version of the cause ascribed to Mill's death?
To come out now to make this demand is blatantly opportunistic partisan crap that the general Public can easily see through for what it is. And it rather earns the incumbent Administration some sympathies for being unduly witch-hunted.
Please, don't make the NPP look such a defeatist Party that would grasp at any straw to win the Elections. It is simply embarrassing and portrays the NPP in a bad, ridiculous pose.
If the caller, on the other hand, has any new evidence of wrongdoing that might either accelerated or precipitated the death of Mills prematurely, let him or her go to Court to present it for prosecution of the culprits. Else, he or she must just shut up and focus on the real issues that matter now to the Nation.
