It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

We have been in this country when the uncompleted extension of the runway of Kumasi Regional Airport has been described by the Mahama NDC gov't as an ultra modern international airport comparable to any international airport in the US, Germany, France, UK, Holland, China, Hong Kong, etc, etc. So what does the Mahama NDC gov't means by an ultra modern Kumasi central market because Ghanaians have had it with mediocre leadership and propaganda.

In my view Ghana should not expect any change in its developmental profile as nothing is unlikely to change from now to 2016 if government does not seriously clamp down on corruption.I remember the African Watch predicting crony capitalism to be the bane of the Mahama Government in 2016.I fully agree despite being an NDC foot soldier who campaigned vigorously for then candidate Mahama in 2012.It is obvious the country is burning under unprecedented corruption which the president is not showing any political commitment in dealing with.The ease with which people walk away with very serious criminal acts in wanton corruption cast a slur on the presidency.Ghana will have witnessed some serious socioeconomic gains if all those stolen money was put to good use.The level to which this government go to protect corrupt public servants and politicians alike is incredible.I will not be surprised if the NPP resist a genuine NDC victory in 2016 by picking up arms.I will also not be surprised if the NPP enjoy popular support just in case of an uprising.I do fully agree with no mean a person but chairman jj Rawlings that the government has an image problem when it comes to corruption because of a widespread perception that the president himself is corrupt and therefore encourages it.You don't need to be a rocket scientist to realize that the NPP is taking full advantage of this to whip anti-government sentiments and hate.The poor masses watching corruption and opulence with pain will easily buy into it and join a popular revolt just in case the NPP refuses to accept an NDC victory in 2016.The resent frequent demonstrations and industrial actions may be a prelude to this.The only way the government can deal with this is to allow reported cases of corruption to be dealt with if even involving public institutions.The government's habit of resorting to communist inferior tactics and threats by state security to intimidate and discourage people from exposing corruption inimical to his government is not in his interest.This is particularly important for loyal NDC foot soldiers who fight anti-government forces indulging in open corruption to bring down the government whiles criticizing it as corrupt.Failure to act rather than covering rot implies the government condone corruption with the best of knowledge.

Ghana's problem can only be solved by through Parliament where laws and legislation are enacted and not be people power. We have become a morally bankrupt nation because parliament has failed in passing a constitution with teeth, foresight, ideas and ideals or with moral forthrightness for this once great nation. It is only when Parliament has the courage to criminalize activities and actions of its own members that the rest of society will follow suit. It is parliament that has normalized tribal loyalties, graft and greed through laws that provided its members with wages and compensation packages that are not only obscene but lessons on greed. It is parliament that has set the tone in Ghana for people to take pride in political party loyalty over love of or for nation.
Paa Kwesi Nduom served under the Kufour administration and despite his so-called education in the USA, forgot that it is when a nation has strong and effective institutions that it becomes successful in all its endeavors. Under Kufour state institutions were reduced to token agencies to merely serve the whims of the party in power. Some might say the trend started under J.J. Rawlings which may or may not be true but should it not have been the job of subsequent government, the Kufour era, to right wrongs of the past? If Kufour deemed certain things important for Ghana he would have pursued them with vigor just as he zealously sold Ghana Telecom, Ghana Airways and gave away Ghana oil drilling contracts on the cheap while rewarding the EO group.
Politicians and ex-politicians in Ghana do have the audacity without shame to talk about others when they shamelessly failed the nation while they had all the chances in a lifetime to do something but couldn't because of their collective selfish interests.
