What I think China should do is to get more involved with grass-roots businesses in Ghana. Our traders have been trading in a paltry manner for many decades without making any headway nor any progress. This is where we need some investment and assistance.
The Chinese should begin to think about partnering our Makola women, kelewele, grilled fish, kenkey and fish, waatche, cloth sellers, fried rice vendors and the thousands of other small-scale businesses in that category to improve their act and grow big.
As the matter stands, Ghanaians do not have the capital to buy our own state neglected enterprises or the required skills to begin big capital intensive projects. As a result, we are left to the mercy of greedy and corrupt western multinationals who collude with our govts to more or less take over our economy by buying us out of local big business.
