Corporate responsibility is a hand out.
A generous hand out from any friend could not even raise anyone's family to the family's expectations unless that family has no expectation of how high they want to rise, so how could a nation depends on the largess of a corporation if that is not due to laziness.
Get enough courage to tax these foreign companies and use the tax monies to develop instead of stealing it. THAT'S COMMON SENSE.

My friend it is not an error and neither is it a curse. It is simply because we refuse to think for ourselves and for our collective benefit.
All those bullshit NGOs who are saying stupid things like, it is because of the lack of a law backing the MDF, that makes the fund open to abuse. Nonsense, and bullshit again!
Nobody in this country needs a law to do anything because no law in this country works unless they want to use it against somebody who is fighting against the corrupt system.
What laws do we not have in this country? We have laws and laws and laws upon laws which have been created to enforce many other recreated laws and repeated laws and revised laws which people still continue to abuse with impunity. I actually believe that we have more laws in this country for virtually every aspect of life, than in any other country on this globe.
On one hand, laws in this country are made to give the public a false sense of security and on the other hand, laws are made to prevent mass participation of the public in a given area only so that, the elite and the politically powerful can cheat and loot in the same way that the former colonial dictators as well as those who benefit most from our natural resources, the so-called foreign investors, continue to do.
As for these fifth columnists, the so-called NGOs who are merely gate-keepers and security alarm posts for our major exploiters, they should give us a break and keep quiet when issues of national benefit and security are being discussed.
I however wish to immensely congratulate the Public Agenda for this exceptionally stimulating story. This is the kind of journalism that is expected and that we need in this country. It is excellent and outstanding. It is the kind of journalism that aims to enlighten us on as to how our abundant natural resources that is sufficient to make our country one of the most developed in the world, are frittered out to the benefit of other countries that some of us run to, to escape from the devastating and mind-wrenching poverty that our country is left with.
Congratulations to the Public Agenda again and it is hoped that you can keep it up.

Bauxite (from the Western Region) --- 333,458 mt
Manganese (from the Western Region) --- 596,572 mt
(Source mining policy of Ghana)
Value today:
Gold --- $1400 per oz
Diamond --- from $1500 to $150,000 per carat (Market price)
Bauxite --- $150 per mt
Manganese --- $450 per tonne
Akyem districts make up more than half of the population of the Eastern Region.
Even though today diamond production from Akyem has stopped temporarily Akyem districts must be given their fair share of projects. Discrimination against Akyems districts has been going on for at least the last forty years. A visit to the Akyem districts would indicate the poor state of districts: bad roads, poor infrastructure.
Ask Mahama about all these calamities.
