Not unlike IMANI GHANA,most of their 'frontmen',have demonstrated a distinct anti-current administration bias;and even more disturbing is the fact that the Ghanaian public, has not been fully appraised about the details of their sources of funding! Who do these people represent, and speak for anyways?

It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

I think the ongoing consultative process in relation to a review of our constitutional paradigm is important. We may misconstrue the predominantly patience of the Ghanaian polity as things are pragmatically working well; on the contrary they are not. As such any process with the ultimate consensus to limit the powers of the executive will be very useful; inter allia, a preemptive programme to avoid potential civil unrest. I personally recommend a revamp of our constitutional structure, for the same reasons I have posited here.

Unless and until we replace the 'me first' mindset that has overcome our society, and clouded our thinking and behaviour,no amount of tinkering with a mere document,a Constitution, can save this country!
In several jurisdictions around the globe, people are more than happy to show the flag, even when they derive no direct pecuniary benefits from doing so. Can we say the same thing about any of these 'noise-makers' who are constantly disturbing our ears?

Good tidings dispel hopelessness. When one discovers distinguished citizens sacrifice their time, energy, resources including their wealth of intelligence to seek the interest of the nation by being so desperate and passionate to right the wrongs in our politico-economic discourse one can only breathe air of hope and wish them very well. All is not lost! Bravo to them.
I pray such researched recommendations which is free of partisan colourings would speedily translate into paragraphs in our constitution. If ever there's one single thing that needs change this must be it.
I find that pivotal change summed up in the words of the vice chair, Justice Short:
"...most of the appointments are done to benefit party supporters thereby overlooking competence."
“Under various articles of the 1992 constitution of the Republic of Ghana, the President has the power to make several appointments, even though in some case this is done in consultation or with the advice or approval of some other bodies, particularly the council of State, whose independence has been questioned.”
Not only is the current government guilty of this, the past under Kuffour was as well. The latter though, made some inroads at least in getting Dr. Kwasi Nduom on board. The current government must have built on that gesture in going for the numerous richly experienced citizens in varying fields irrespective of party affiliation. Failure to do that has produced a number of inexperienced and "unqualified" personel to manage the economy; a hugely significant factor responsible for the lacklustre performance of the current government.
Who knows President Mahama would have chalked some significant successes had he formed a team of astute technocrats from varied shades and colours! But he can't solely be blamed as the constitution covers him.
