If Yasmine Serwah Fosu is all that the article has made her to be, why is she not looking to compete for UK? Residing in UK has helped her to train, compete and improve as a fencer. What has Ghana done for her, other than receiving encouragement from numerous Ghanaian sports officials? It seems the Ghanaian sports officials are only interested in seeing her make history as the country's first Olympian in fencing. Fencing is a sport that requires lots of financial resources. I do not see where the Ghanaian sports officials have offered to help her to defray some of her fencing costs.

I think you've missed the point! Not all talented African athltes want to represent Europe or America! Some actually see themselves as African and want to represent Africa. It's tough for all athletes everywhere. Apart form training and competing, there are all the costs involved and until you start winning no one backs you. I think what she's doing is great. GOOD FOR HER! AND GOOD FOR GHANA AND GOOD FOR ANY YOUNG GIRL THAT WANTS TO DO SOMETHING. HAVING THAT IMPOSSIBLE DREAM.Loads of athletes train abroad and still represent their home nation. If she is Ghanian and has the drive and ambition and the ability to represent Ghana why shouldn't she??

This young lady has made me shed tears and also made me ashamed! A true patroitic Ghanaian through and through! True to the motto " ask not what your country can do for you, but rather what you can do for your country", this young lady , though so young is really a role model for Ghanaians! I wish she had accompanied our Black Stars to Brazil in 2014, I'm sure Ghana would have won the world cup! No joke , but imagine such a person being the captain of the Black Stars.......Ghana would be going places! THANK YOU YOUNG LADY ! I'M NOW CONVINCED, ALL IS NOT LOST ; THE FUTURE OF GHANA IS GRADUALLY LOOKING BRIGHT WITH PEOPLE LIKE YOU, THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!
