The one who said he saw her at church and was unusually quiet should have approached her and make inquiries; but he didn't only to post such a dereliction! Christians should know that it is the Holy Spirit who directs and reveals and whatever He shows you ; needed to be attended to. Because they go there ( church) to dance in the name of worship , it is easy to overlook The Holy Spirit's guidance. That explains why he saw clearly a sign of depression and ignored it. This should be a lesson to all who have misconstrued church services to mean excitement and celebration !! It's a shame really I feel bad about that man's post. As foreigners in the diaspora, that is our first point of call.
But there are several ways to combat stress if we are going through it.
I am adopting a different model where Realism and a pragmatic approach to Life's challenges can be addressed and will be discussing it on the airwaves soon,
What is the point quoting Paul's letters to the Corinthians when the person is hurting inside. Irrelevant, totally irrelevant.
I hope she wasn't pushed onto the train tracks, but it's late now for us to analyse the issues here.
Keep the right sort of friends too. Some people around you can even exacerbate your woes.

ps: Someone sent me a whatsapp video clip of a distressed woman in the UK ranting and yelling over her husband's infidelity in the middle of the road.( I have sent it to" Kasapa" radio and "True Citizen of Ghana". Very distressing to watch.

Most Ghanaians die from common diseases that you won't die from here. You can't even call 911 when there's an accident, preventable death numbers is crazy. Most of us here get smarter each day, even the so called cleaners and all the others. Your comment is an epitome of a dumb Ghanaian, are there no kayayos, shoe shine boys, civil servants begging money from people returning home from the cold? You call your friends and they get excited. All your exes you have heard are doing great in Ghana instantly want to be connected to you again though they're married and would go to the extent of begging for invitation letters, and are willing to wire money to you coz some didn't get the money through hard work, so it's easy to throw it away, i didn't ask, it was forcefully offered, lol, they literally worship you. The girls who clean here come home and they dress and behave betterthan your so called weave wearing funny looking celebrities, and men throw money at them and they come back with thousands of dollars. The jealousy is too much, you pay connection money and all to travel and when you are bounced you want to put your frustration on us. Not all Ghanaians here clean, we have doctors, lawyers, engineers, nurses, pharmacists, business owners and yes in every society we need cleaners to make the society clean not like our motherland where filth in most parts is normal, yes we need selfless people to care for our grandparents coz they've toiled and need care and comfort their last days unlike my beloved country where every old person is a witch or wizard and don't get adequate care, sure we need security guards so we feel safe. I can wake up at 2am and drive to the store without being scared of robbers blocking the road with a big tree to rob me. You are using the cars we have used and you are happy. Sure when I buy a new car, I have to do yall a favor by shipping it home and I see the happy faces of the so called affluent in Ghana who buy it. You are wiser and richer? Your government only think about looting and not about the poor and needy, please. I'll be happy to be buried here coz at least the cemeteries are beautiful, clean, and serene, and who cares where you buried? You dead, you wouldn't care, lol. .. you see how most of you think, and where your priorities lie? You'll rather have extravagant funerals but won't invest in education. The monies Ghanaians abroad send home is a bulk part of what our failing country depends on. If you had a loved one abroad, you wouldn't have spit this nonsense. Taking care of infirm - it would be great if Ghanaians learned how to take care of their sick.
Car park attendants - it would be great if Ghanaians learned how to attend to car parks and roads in order to remove the chaos on Ghanaian streets.
Security guards - it would be great if Ghanaian paid attention to security in order to reduce the rampant armed robberies.
Those of us abroad have not been told that Ghana is poor. Ghana is poor and was recently on the HIPC (Highly Indebted Poor Countries) list.
Let's build each other up. Ignorant comments are just that -- ignorant.

An emotionally disturbed woman who jumped in front of an R train in the Financial District on Monday was reported missing by her adult daughter just hours earlier, police said.
Linda Afriyie, 54, left her home on Steuben St. in Staten Island around 6:20 a.m. on Monday, her distraught daughter told police.

Very sad indeed, but the Church and the family members should not resign themselves to the usual Ghanaian attitude of "Enye hwee, fama Nyame, anya as3e awie." They should look for a good attorney who will request for full investigation. The subway cameras would give some clues to this unfortunate and untimely death.

Whether the members have money or not, the USA Church of Pentecost pastors don't care. If her pastor pays visit to members, perhaps , the pastor could have sense it.
Pastors, keep on building your mansion , you will one day leave it behind.
There is no job in this world that can be compared to church of pentecost pastor job. I am not a member, but their members are complaining a lot. The pastors have free accomodation, the curch send in monthly mission House support to the pastors for their glocery, when the pastors visit their locals to preach, they sign checks for them that range between $200 to $500.
The church provide transportation for them. It is the church that buy gas , insurance and maintenance of their car. Their wives don't work, but the church pays social security for their wives. The church provide free medical insurance for them without these pastors contributing one dollar to it. Members are overburden with numerous offering in the church.
The pastors have become money conscious instead of preaching and studying the word. And most of them, their messages are not good. The church needs real godly men to lead COP.
COP is well known of its discipline, holiness, the Word and prayers. According to my room mate , who is a member, these days when they call for prayers, members do not patronize at all. Every program, there is offering to be collected. Pastors are too greedy.

The Church of pentecost, USA Inc is not the pentecost we know in Ghana. The psastors are greedy and money conscious. Their message is not good. They don't care. They don't call and visit their members. It is completely exploitation of members. I went there and I left. Every week, there is an offering apart from tithes they collect.

Most of the pastors COP USA Inc. are hiring are pastors who did not attend the church in Ghana. Those pastors had their church, but chose to join Church of Pentecost, USA Inc. There are no Pentecostal values in those pastors. It is money, and they don't like pentecost members who were members in Ghana. One particular pastor, in his District, he selected Presiding elders and members of his District Executive elders who joined the church in abroad. Is COP, USA inc not able to find members who attended the church in Ghana who are also interested in becoming pastors?
All what the church is pursuing is moneyteology. Give, Give, Give and God will bless you. Members have given, given, given and now there is too much murmering on the part of members in giving.
What did Jesus Christ did on the cross. Are we not blessed when you accept Jesus Christ . Are we not given all spiritual blessings in heavenly realms in Christ Jesus?
The message of the church has been give, give, give. Pastors don't call and visit their members as it used to be. If this poor lady pastor has been calling or visiting her, perhaps, the pastor might foresee this tragic situation.
The have built their big houses in Ghana. Now, they are buy mansions as mission houses. They live far away from members.
When we were in Ghana, we offer during Christmas and Easter. Also, members offer to build their own church building. Here in USA, even children's program, quota are required from local assemblies. Our children and Youth programs: why should we send quota. These children and youth are not working. COP, USA Inc has become too money conscious.
There are members who have no jobs, and some are single mothers. The church has overburden Members have financially.The church is not prepare to cut its expenditure. No wonder, the church is not attracted to new members again. Outsiders who come in leaves within three months.
The church should let the pastors bear some of the numerous expenditurs they are creating. Why should we give pastor checks of $500.00 for driving the church van to perform his duties? Who goes to work and the end of your eight hours, a check is handed to you; after a week or two weeks you receive your salary in addition?
Some the elders, who are in leadership position but do not serve the church. They are there just for the position sake.They have just become pets.Always what they say is YES for all offering to burden the members.
We need financial experts to come in to study how we can finance our church.Your members are living in two bed rooms apartments and you are buying big mansions just to increase financial obligations of the church.
Something needs to be done.

According to what I heard, in front of the congregation, the pastor was bold to tell members that he had seen vision where "mmotia" dwarfs were stealing members money. And he the pastor has seized the breafcase of the dwarfs.Implying that members will be rich.

Very often these poeple who are ready to help easily get depressed when others don't care for them. Most people think such people don't have problems so they don't get closer to them and genuiely ask about their welfare and how they are coping. But rather seek advice and help from them without offering them some counselling or some shoulder. Every single individual, even a new born baby is under some form of stress. We need to get closer to our helpers and offer to listen to their story sometimes. These rather very helpful individuals go home and think 'I am willing to help others, how come no one is ever asked me how my kids are or how my day was'. Lets try to give back when we take.

Please, let us open our minds a little and do some extensive readings on the origins of Christianity, do some comparative analysis with other religions like Buddhism, Hindooism, Ancient Egyptian religion and the Ancient Mexican religion. You'll discover the parallelisms in all these religions. The question is, who's copying from whom? Obviously, christianity, it would seem, is an adaptation of the ancient religions. The true authentic religion is the ancient egyptian religion which is practiced by the Akan people.
