There are mosquitoes in Taiwan but they don't carry malaria (P. falciparum). There are mosquitoes in Florida and they carry the West Nile virus (but not malaria). Some dogs in America, Africa, and Asia carry the rabies virus, but dogs in the UK do not carry rabies. So please let us be as scientifically minded as possible.
Ebola was discovered in Zaire (DRC) in 1976. There were occasional cases in remote villages, and so it never spread. Unfortunately this time round, Ebola in West Africa made an appearance in major cities, with lots of human movement, hence the wildfire proportions it has assumed.
My beef with us Africans in general is our tendency to blame our ills on others. We tend to lay blame based on hear say and our emotions. Let us just think through our problems dispassionately, and seek solutions, if possible home-grown.
I do not think White people will introduce Ebola to Africa in order to make money selling drugs (as some people have been suggesting). Are there not White people in Africa? Do they not travel back and forth to their home countries? Why would they risk such an exercise in futility by introducing a virus that could (and has) turn round and attack people in their own countries?
It is a great pity when people look for scapegoats all the time. I was recently at a funeral where we all hear to put on red funeral cloth - the strange thing is we were told the funeral cloth (I think it is called "Kobene") is rented out, and not sold/owned per se. We all had to wear this funeral cloth that hundreds of other people had used previously - the smell from my cloth suggested it had not been laundered in a long, long time. Now if by chance the Ebola virus were carried in human sweat, would we all not have been exposed to this mortal danger? Sometimes we need to look at our culture and determine if major changes are not needed to stop the spread of disease. Is it still necessary for corpses to be brought home for laying in state? Are our funeral undertakers sufficiently protected when they wash corpses? What about mortuary attendants? Are they protected? These are things we need to be talking about and discussing, instead of looking to assign blame to people "who introduced Ebola to Africa"

Take Ghana for instance we have food and drugs board ( standard board) which is mandated to check all the food and drugs coming to Ghana for wholesome and efficacy, okay Ghana does not manufacture these machines that the Standard board uses we buy those equipment from foreign land and at the same time we import food and drugs from foreign land so what is the probability that if the foreigners want to harm us they wouldn't lace/tint the food and the drugs and calibrate their equipments not to detect that for us to see. The masses will eat or take these foods or drugs then all of a sudden we have epidemic then the same people will come to Africa's aid because of natural resources.
