Afoko's election was a watershed moment in NPP's history because it allowed the party to shed its dubious distinction as a tribal-enclave....and to date, Afoko has performed remarkably except for a few missteps...the boneheaded decision not to attend the Economic Forum in Senchi and the internal quabbles that have lately threatened the party's cohesion.....
Afoko can be a competent, fair and capable manager if he remains neutral and does not hinge his horses to any potential presidential candidate...there is a perception that has gained currency in recent times that there is no love lost between him and Akuffo Addo...that is a view Afoko must fight to dispel otherwise, it would come back to haunt him big time.....
The task ahead of Afoko is huge, but surmountable...all he has to do, is bring all the warring factions together, and prevailed upon them that the interests of the party and that of the nation are paramount to the parochial and individual interests that have unfortunately are on display; he should give everyone who wants to be the party's presidential nominee equal opportunity to present their vision and plans, but above all, whoever emerges as the winner should be deftly stage-managed and accorded all the resources the party can marshall if the party wants to a reasonable shot at grabbing the elections in 2016.

No doubt Alan can win if he makes it through the primaries but it will be tight given the margin of lead Akuffo Addo has taken already. NPP NEEDS TO CHNAGE ITS CONSTITUTON TO TWO STRIKES AND YOU ARE OUT. Akuffo Addo was given two chances and failed. What makes him think he can beat John Mahamma this time round. He was not able to defeat John Mahhama when John did not have the advantage of the incumbent. Why does Akuffo Addo think he can now beat President Mahama now that he has the advantage of the incumbent? Plus John Mahama has youth on his side, Akuffo Addo is a septuagenarian. It's only Alan who can match Mahama for youth and cancel out the incumbency advantage.

I am saying Afoko and Agyapong are not strategic enough because they have not been able to introduce any new tactics or technincs.They are doing the same things they inherited from Jake and Sir John and I am afraid the resuilts will be no different in 2016.Let me remind NPP members that the essential logic of politics is of policies.Let me tell Mr Afoko that his machine has already broken down before the elections.The only effective strategy to win elections is to present some lucid and pragmatic alternatives to the electorates.How do you change a govt without any alternative policy?On what basis do you want Ghanaians to vote for npp?I don't see any reason.To be frank,Mr Afoko should have had the 7 aspirants to debate on national issues and propose solutions to the challenges facing Ghana.What the electorates want from any candidate is a pragmatic strategy but not loyalty.All what NPP is doing today is counterproductive,they are depending on loyalty as the campaign machine instead of pragmatic policies.So far,Nana Addo has not proposed any alternative policy but Alan has advanced some few ideas and nobody is ready to debate on it.NPP is showing incredible depth of naivety,they think the popularity of Kuffour will get them there,what a big mistake?Thank you.
