These two Pastors and others came to abroad not to do the work of God but to destroy their hardworking fellows and make money. No WE May Say But What About Layman Who Have Struggled And ARE Still Struggling To establish Methodist churches only for ministers to enjoy. The laymen need to wait for reward in Heaven while the ministers accrue wealth and put up mansions in Ghana. You think God is asleep? We all live to see.

We help the invalid - we feed them, clean them, keep their company, read them stories - Society appreciate our countless help for the invalid. Last year, I got invited to a church harvest as a supporter. I contributed a substantial amount to the church. Remember my job? That money came from the "Toilet" cleaning job. Best of all, most of my friends make church contributions of tithe and collection out of that money. It is very unfortunate that someone will look down on any job that brings income some of which is used as contribution towards their churches. People need NOT be narrow minded and insulting towards others.

I find it quite preposterous to see how a so called breakaway church would allow itself to nursed by a mother church if indeed its a breakaway church. Why would a breakaway church want to submit to authority of the church if indeed its a breakaway. It doesn't really make sense and I personally think the labeling of the church as a breakaway church is simply wrong and that may be causing all this rancor. Why hasnt the pastor who allegedly engineered the so called breakaway church not joined them with his family as that is normally the case. Its quite clear someone is confused here and just don't understand the what a breakaway church is. Some churches started with three members and have grown to thousands. So long as the church is willing to submit to authority of the church and abide by its principles, MAC will have no option but to accommodate it as a nursery society. If they perform well in terms of getting more Christians and Non Christians to join them, they can be move on to become a full society and help in the growth of Methodism.

Who every wrote this article, has said it all. Now the question is what is Ghana doing about this shamful acts? Also why are these preachers (pastors), so hungry for all these worldly things? What are they been thought when they are enlisted. The Metodist Church Ghnana had to do some thing now before there would be no people to preach to.
The Methodist Ghana had to link up with the United Methodist Church USA and simply stop the sybols of the Ghana and the United, that is been used by these selfish pastors to make their gains.

Ghanaians have a habit (im speaking generally here) of talking any how about men of God, and when things are not going well for us, we wonder why. We need to learn to show respect for God's anointed. (1 Chronicles 16:22)

I don't think it's a matter of "talking any how about men of God". It's a matter of speaking up against the acts that are likely to cause a damage to Christian principles. God did not anoint the Pastors to cause disunity, divisions and disaffection among the various congregations. Some of these Pastors openly show their likeness for some groups or members of the same church. Some of these actions lead to such breakaways and the formation of new churches. In fact, some of these Pastors have stopped talking about the mainstream Christian virtues like salvation, kindness to mankind, prayers and the love for humanity. All they talk about it money, salary increment, new houses and luxury cars. I don't think they were anointed to seek such riches. So it's not an issue of "talking any how about men of God".
By the way, who actually made them "men of God"? These are people who have gone to study at the Trinity College and become Pastors of the Methodist Missionary. Anybody can do that, provided such a person passes his/her exams. They are recognized by the standards of the Methodist Mission or Council to lead the various congregation to worship God and administer the affairs of the churches. Of course, they have to be taken care of as leaders of the churches. But their actions should not be driven solely by money. If you get closer to the Methodist churches in some of these cities mentioned, you'll really appreciate the troubles some of these Pastors are creating for their members.

Scheming and planning evil machinations when they see a holy spirit filled man of God. Its an open secret in the Ghanaian community how Leaders of this church plan evil when they go on their boozing spree. Even in Toronto here, when you mention you go to that church, people will advise you to stop because u might be drawn into the social club of boozing and snatching other peoples wives or u will be tagged as one. If a minister defiles a little child, is such a minister still a man of God? Never!
God are the days when ministers were all men of God.
The same book you quoted from says that: 'By their fruits you will know them'.
If someone does wrong things, it is the duty of us all to point it out to the person, so that he will stop doing wrong. If we fail to do so because the person wears a neck collar, we would be doing the whole church a dis-service.
So join in the fight against the wrong-doers. And do not ever be afraid to criticize your minister when he/she does anything against the people of God. God expects you and everybody else to be His mouth-piece to speak against the evil that some men in collar do.

The people that write such absurd articles are the same ones that cause the most confusion in the church. You dont have to be a rocket scientist to know this. As a Christian in a church, when your church is going through hard times or when your pastor is not doing what he is supposed to be doing, you dont come on a public domain such as this and broadcast it. You rather go and pray and intercede on the behalf of your church and society. Christianity is now a Title and not a way of living. I say this because many people have taken hold of the title and yet refuse to put its principles into practice. People operate as if they have no brain matter in their big heads now adays. The write of the article wrote about freeing the MOG's salary and throwing him out of the mission house. WHat complete NONSENSE is that? Who died and made you GOD? we lack the fear of God in us because if that was not the case, you would not talk about men of God in this Manner on a public platform. Just so you and your crew know, you have invited curses upon curses upon your self and your family. You dont expect to degrade a man of God and his family and go free like that. You deserve every turmoil that comes upon you.
And as a long time member of the Methodist Church in Canada, I can say that these two MOG that this article is written about, Rev Asare Kusi and Rev Samuel Agyapong have been the finest Ministers the Ghana Methodist Church in the North American Mission has seen. They have not only caused Spiritual growth in the church, but physical growth and dedication and unity among the members. Go to the Edmonton and Calgary Society and see the wonderful things God is using Rev Agyapong to do there. Not to speak of GMCT. If you see the way God is taking care of them despite these absurd accusations, you would know that God is truly a God of Justice. God has and will continue to bless Sofo Agyapong and his Family and the Methodist Church

I guess u are part of the people sabotaging the work of this great man of God cos you seem to be in the Church. In a Church where people are living all sorts of life, forming social club which engages in womanizing and boozing every Sunday after Church, Leaders who never attend prayer meetings, how will such Immoral leaders ever like such a prayerful man of God? You talk of autocracy be cos the minister will not let people have their way to running the church like a social club. That is the main problem of the Church. Many people have left the Church cos of some of these vices going on in the Church. And when a minister comes and stands against these things then all sorts of evil machinations are organized against him. I am also in the Church and we can all testify that the church is moving on from grace to grace due to the hard work of this great minister. Last year alone we had an unprecedented amount of $100000 from our annual harvest. Moreso, members are also growing in their spiritual lives with the continuous organisation of half nites and prayer sessions. Its obvious the fire is really burning some people so they are doing all things possible to soil the great man of God jux becos he wuld not bow down to peoples whims and caprices. And I am part of the Leaders and dont know about any such letter. The letter claiming to be emanating from the leaders is not coming from all the leaders. If you understand evangelism well u wont call this church splitting. All methodists churches that have sprang up in Accra and Kumasi came from mother churches such as Calvary Adabraka, Wesley Adum and the rest. When people begin to stay far from the church they were in, they gather the Methodists together at new area to form a new church. That why the Methodist Church in Kumasi is so strong. Every suburb of Kumasi has a Methodist Church and all these churches came from parent churches in Bantama, Amakom, Adum and the rest. The benefit of this is that, people who are not methodist but live in these areas can go to these churches because of proximity and this helps to grow the Methodist Churches. I guess that what is probably happening in Brampton and Toronto. The leaders need not be myopic.

Why limit yourself to Ghana when this concerns churches abroad where an area with population of about 10,000 people may have only 2 Ghanaians living there. Churches abroad need to be united. Splitting them will impede growth and development. I am a member of the Toronto Presbyterian church. We got stronger when we brought all smaller Presbyterian churches together to form one main church. We have been able to build our own church. Our brothers and sisters at the Methodist church in Toronto are struggling to build their own. I doubt if this can ever happen with this split upon split upon split. Churches abroad need to be united to remain strong.

Same problems in GMF-UK. The ministers who are sent from Ghana to oversee the work of the church in London refuse to return to Ghana when their time is up. The first minister stayed at post for several years, and when his replacement arrived, the former defected to the British church, who are employing oversees ministers to supplement their own staff.
The second minister has already overstayed his term. All indications are that he is also working his way into the hearts of the British conference. All indications are that he, too, will find his way into the good books of the British church. He will also be promoted as a senior minister in the British Methodist church in a few more years.
What this is doing is depriving Ghana Methodist Church of the services of their trained personnel. This is, in fact, Holy spirit Brain Drain.

These pastors as a result of the methodist churches where they were baptised and served as pastors until sin came into their mind and left to join other churches or formed their own churches can quote from genesis to Revelation but mind you they are dangerous and the Ghana Christian council should do their home work properly and always remember the good works of Saint PETER

The Methodist church Ghana has structures and procedures to address issues like. Who ever wrote this article should search his conscience to find out if his motivation for this piece is for the growth and well being of the Methodist church Ghana and the church universal. I think it’s about time The Methodist Church Ghana calls some leaders in The Ghana Methodist Church of Toronto to order and address their excesses. Some of these leaders think the church belongs to them and will move heaven and earth to fight any minister who will not support their way of lives. The only way a minister will not have problem in the church is to party and drink with them or turn a blind side on their wayward attitudes. I agree some seek their well being instead of their pastoral responsibility but The very Rev Dr. Emmanuel Asare Kusi is one of the finest ministers God has bless the church with. When he speaks you see nothing but humility. Why are your determined on ruining his reputation? Please if what you are writing is factual please address it to the appropriate body and your concerns will be addressed and stop spreading lies and false information on the web. A church does not fulfil its mission by staying under one roof all the time. You will do your readers a great service if you can come out with a better way of planting a church or a new society in the Methodist church. The fact that few leaders in the church do not think there is a need to nurture a new society in the Brampton area does not mean that the mission should be abandoned. I pray that Ghana Methodist Church of Toronto do not have issues with Jesus Himself should God send him in the form of human to pastor over the church. Please humble your selves and allow God to lead his church and remember God knows and sees every heart of man.

Methodist structures and procedures don't seem to work. I have been following this story from Spy Ghana and Modern Ghana. From what I read, a joint committee report was sent to SMC re. this Brampton issue. Nothing was done about the recommendation stated in the report. A letter was later sent to MAC and MAC called the leaders liars and asked them to withdraw their letter. I find that really sad that Methodist Bishops and pastors are using the "old Boys school club" method to support each other where they have to listen to both sides of the story and to get the issue properly resolved to bring peace and harmony to the church. MAC's bureaucracy and lack of action has caused this chaos.

The People called Methodists should know that it is not right to wash your dirty clothes in the public. In the case of the North America Mission, it appears that some are even washing clothes that are not dirty. Agyaaku, the problem is that the ecclesiastical authority that is expected to help resolve such issues does not care about the people who raise the problems because they are not their co-equals.
Secondly, the people who admonish us to pray, pray, pray do not bother to pray themselves, that is why are prayers are never answered. They tell us to always 'do what Jesus would have done in the situation', but they themselves do as they please.
This is the crux of the whole matter. When a problem rears its ugly head in the church, the ministers expect the people in the laity to listen to the voice of God before they act, whilst they, the minsters, probably listen to,the voice of Satan to perpetuate their selfish interests.
The church has come to a stage where the ministers can no longer have their way. They have to lead with the congregation, otherwise they may as well find another profession!

These church divisions are result of greed. The Churches actually do not need priests from Ghana. Since the churches formed overseas come under US, Canadian, or UK jurisdiction, the easiest way is for them to be part of the umbrella of the Conference of the host country. The extension of Ghana to the US, Canada, and UK are done out of greed to amass money for the priests that are sent out from Ghana. The solution is easy - it was approved before - that all churches established outside Ghana must be part of the conference of the host country. The last bad news is that some o these churches supporting priests from Ghana are going broke for too much demands from these supplanted priests from Ghana. Most of the churches dish out so much money to pay for migration processes of priests and their families, while neglecting their own members, especially children, the youth, and the retired. The Ghana conference do not use money from Ghana for their mission. They pluck every penny out of the coffers of the churches in the host countries till they go totally broke.
We are never going to be able to resolve this till the churches rethink and start refusing priests from Ghana. That means becoming part of the host conference and beginning to train their own pastors by supporting those in their membership that aspire to become priests.
Hopefully, someone is thinking for Jesus and his mission of discipleship not wealth of unscrupulous priests and their cronies.
God bless the Ministry started by John Wesley.

Its quite appalling and shameful for so called section of disgruntled Church Leaders to write such a disgusting and completely false allegations about the noble minister Dr REV Emmanuel Asare -Kusi. More sinister in their approach is threatening church authorities and allocating all powers to themselves and not even respecting authority of the Church. They should bow their heads in shame. Such malicious actions of such canal leaders should be discouraged and weeded from the church. Shame to those who wrote such disingenuous and ignoramus letter.

Thy Kingdom come, O God,
Thy rule, O Christ, begin;
Break with Thine iron rod
The tyrannies of sin.
Where is Thy reign of peace,
And purity, and love?
When shall all hatred cease,
As in the realms above?
When comes the promised time
That war shall be no more—
Oppression, lust, and crime,
Shall flee Thy face before?
We pray Thee, Lord, arise,
And come in Thy great might;
Revive our longing eyes,
Which languish for Thy sight.
Men scorn Thy sacred Name,
And wolves devour Thy fold;
By many deeds of shame
We learn that love grows cold.
O’er heathen lands afar
Thick darkness broodeth yet:
Arise, O Morning Star,
Arise, and never set!

Who is telling the truth here...?? Have u listened to both sides of the story? Why are u basing your arguments on a false reportage certainly orchestrated by section of these so called leaders to tarnish the hard won reputation of this man. Well if you dont know, I worked with this man as an Evangelist in Ghana and I know him very well. He is a well traveled man. Have been to Amsterdam, U.S, South Korea and so many other places and still returned home to serve Methodist churches in Wa and other places . He definitely will have nothing to gain staying on in Canada after his tenure. So that argument you making about him is completely mute. I believe your case in London might be completely different from this so please dont try to make it generic. I find lots of inconsistencies in the Leaders petition to the MAC. It is quite obvious its a section of the Leaders and not all and as usual empty barrels make the most noise

What is the proof that what is contained in the letter is the truth especially when this so called letter has been leaked to the media for a clandestine agenda instead of allowing the church authority to address this matter. I smell foul play here and its imperative for these Leaders to think soberly about their actions and inaction as definitely it will have repercussions. As a church Leader in the Methodist Church in Ghana, the approach of these clique of leaders was definitely bad and they rather woefully failed to address the issue but targeted the Dr. Reverend. What has the acceptance of a nursery church by North American Mission Advisory Committee got to do with the minister? How many members of the main church are part of the new nursery church? Has the formation of the nursery church affected the finances of the main Church? These are definitely what the MAC will look at and not attacking the minister. I believe some Leaders are on a personal vendetta and God help the Minister and his family!!!
