In Northern Virginia for instance black Africans especially those from Ghana are hated and descriminated against by the officers at Washington Field Office located at Prosperity Avenue in Fairfax Northern Virginia. It is easier for a camel to go through a needle than for a Ghanaian native to be granted permanent residence. Yet everybody is silent due to fear. Those filing for their spouses and other realtives have to migrate to other states, otherwise no matter what they are frustrated and usually denied. Very sad that hatred and descrimination against black people still exist.

So keep fighting and let that African single voice be heard at rallies. I face similar challenges in Oregon as as organizer. Africans are so scared or resigned themselves to faith. I just can't understand why they don't get it and continue to view the immigration reform struggle as a battle for only Hispanics. Well, the more we get involved the better the chances of shaping those policies to favor Africans who have been marginalized.

Many of the educated Africans really do not have a "community based" attitude. They are anxious to go back and have a mansion and some fancy cars and show off. Business development is not on the agenda. Furthermore, there is a lack of trust. As a result, there may be a number of wealthy Ghanaians who could create a successful business that could create jobs. However, they will never trust each other. ON THE GHANA END....if you give opportunities to some folks in Ghana, they will rather try and dupe you instead of doing their job. Thus, we only get piecemeal individual projects that might be helpful for a few families but not enough to make a large impact.
