For security reasons rail transportation will be best suited for this purpose. I'm very skeptic about this project because of Nigerians; they will capitalize on that to spread their criminal activities.

The lessons learned from the West African Gas Pipeline and CIMAO should be applied to this project.
I am surprised the WAGP was not mentioned. The security issues surrounding this project should be reviewed and security enhanced. The pipeline is key to the utilisation of gas from Nigeria to generate electricity for the sub-region.
ECOWAS should ensure that projects are properly planned and executed for the benefit of the region.

Road tranport links in ecowas countries is good to facilitate movements of people and logistics but the high incidence of road accidents resulting in injuries and deaths due to careless driving coupled high fares of goods per unit cost will over ride the benefits of this project,i suggent the marine transport can be developed to facilitate easy movement of passengers and goods at a relatively cheaper rate and safe arrival .
