It is very necessary to reform the entire power sector to reflect current trends in the industry. However, we CANNOT & MUST NOT subjugate our constitution & sovereignty to any other country. Parts of the Compact set aside important constitutional institutions & national interests. Where in the world has the US Congress/Govt successfully implemented such a programme? Where was Ghana's Sovereign Parliament looking when they ratified such an agreement? Please nobody should set any agenda for derailing Ghana's progress. Do we remember Ghana Telecom, its university & VRA's fibre optic network? Any lessons?

Let Mr Lucas Kumi and his ilk know that the Compact will go ahead as planned, and that majority of Ghanaians are in full support of the deal as it stands. The corrupt and inefficient PUWU and the thieves parading as ECG workers are only fighting to protect their selfish interest and not the sovereignty of Ghana. The inefficiency and thievery in the power sector must be tackled vigorously and as a matter of urgency if we are to progress into a 21st century nation. These so-called workers unions and people who think like them have nothing good to offer this country. They have, over the years, sabotaged all genuine efforts at reforming the power sector because they fear losing their capacity to use dubious and unconventional means to cheat the public in the midst of their incompetence.
