As long as politicians invest in small scale farming in their attempt to win the elections Agriculture will continue suffering.
LARGE SCALE FARMING is needed, land reforms and modern agriculture !

Can our leaders read about the former federal govt agric minister of Nigeria who is now the president of the African Development Bank headquartered Abidjan?
His activism and drive that had seen Nigeria chalked successes in agriculture had won him accolades in the corridors of AU that unanimously selected him for the ADF job.
How many Ghanaian ministers ever do their jobs with the kind of drive and activism that this former federal minister exhibited with many trips to farms and speaking with farmers to see that his policy and incentives govt provided are being put to use? HE NEVER GOT GLUED TO HIS AIR CONDITIONED OFFICE AT ABUJAO? Lazy Ghana MPs take a cue.
Our ministers are square pegs in round holes.
Fiffi Akwettey was once with agric, and what the hell was his policy and how that had worked for the farmers and how he himself got involved before he was removed? FOOLS IN GOVT la!!!!

Derelict agricultural sector is the legacy Fifi Kwetey bequeathed Ghana; a good work done by an NDC minister who is only good at propaganda.

And what plans has NPP put in their manifesto that indicates otherwise?
We constantly give posts to politicians instead of qualified professionals and we wonder why we have a failed state.

OPAYIN WHY DO YOU ALWAYS COMPLAIN WHEN THE FARMING SECTOR IS STILL DOMINATED BY ILLITERATE PEASANT FARMERS.
WHGY ARE THE SO CALLED EDUCATED IN AGRICULTURE CONTINUE TO IDLE AT THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE, REGIONAL AND DISTRICT AGRICULTURAL CENTRES FOR NON PRODUCTIVE WORK, AT THE TIME THAT, MILLIONS OF HECTARE LANDS HAVE NOT BEEN PUT TO PRODUCTIVE USE IN CROPS AND ANIMAL PRODUCTION TO FEED THE GROWING POPULATION.
ONE WONDERS IF,IT IS NECESSARY AT ALL FOR AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITIES AND AGRICULTURAL INSTITUTIONS TO TURN OUT EDUCATED AND TRAINED AGRICULTURALISTS IN THE COUNTRY.
WITHOUT A COMPLETE OVERHAUL OF THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR,THE NATION WILL CONTINUE TO READ THESE KINDS OF IRRATIONAL COMMENTS IN THE COUNTRY.

We cannot expect any good results from agriculture because Fiifi Kwetey messed up when he was appointed as minister of agriculture. When Fiifi Kwetey was minister in charge of financial and allied services, he connived with Woyome, Betty Mould Iddrisu, Barton Oduro etc and looted state coffers through dubious judgment debts payments to Woyome, WATERVILLE, ISOFOTON, CP, etc. The NDC is a group of organized criminals.
