This has made vra unable to maintain and expand its services because they cannot buy crude and spares. So long as we don't have wise people tackling this problem, forget about Kwabena Donkor

However, to say the issue is solely a financial problem is completely false. This is an issue that stems from the lack of innovation and foresight by our leaders since Nkrumah. Any leader with a genuine and sincere foresight would understand that in a country that is increasingly expanding in population, development, and energy demand would know that hydroelectric power cannot take any country far. It is a resource that you cannot rely on, because adequate water is not a guaranteed resource. Power outages have begun since the Rawlings administration, when there was a rapid supply of electricity to more areas of the country, thus straining our electricity resources, and what did he do about it? What did the Kuffuor administration do about the 2weeks on, 2weeks off power schedule? Did both administrations seek to invest in the power sector to ensure that future generations enjoyed a more sustainable, affordable, and environmentally friendly power supply? No, they were too busy playing the game of politics. Now, we're struggling, spending billions of precious cedis and dollars to refloat a sinking ship. It's a shame how we have to wait until a thunderstorm to build a shelter. I honestly commend this government for trying to resolve this issue, and I urge Ghanaians to be patient, because the results would've been similar, if not the same, irrespective of which party was in power. And I hope future governments look to be more innovative in areas like power, agriculture, overall infrastructure, industry, and education, because these are the main things, I believe, that will secure a better future for us.
