Let us look at the good side of this directive. It is aimed at channeling the money tranfer activities of the telcos. Remember they are not banks or micorfinancial instittuions. If they want to engage in such activities they have to be registered as such and pay the requires taxes. It is simply to strealine their activities for they have already exploited the nation's system to such an extend that thay ways have to be sought to minimise further and worsening exploitation. Let us not see the directive with political lenses.

Bank of Ghana is a useless institution, you sat down unconcern for this entities to operate all this years and now acting, what's the core mandate of this companies aforementioned?,how can this companies takeover the businesses of banks instead of concentrating on mobile services?with what license did they operate?.I once went to Mtn to send money and for hours I sat and the long cue I met was not moving until I find out why?all they said was that, their network was down,my God if Mtn who's core mandate its to make sure others ve data to work in various offices re them self going through this then what is this country heading?its clear their newly find trade gives them money that providing communication and data services as their primary business.I live in Baatsona on the Spintex road and can not get access to their network when I get home,I ve reported this for a year now without any solution from Mtn and NCA ,the agency that granted them this license does not care, this is the capital city of Ghana not saboba or Talensi where I ll attribute it to distance. As long as people responsible to hold this companies to the toes continue to receive their salaries without any performance checks, then we re in for trouble as a nation.Untill governor of bank of Ghana is fired he ll continue to take Ghanaians for granted.
