They said their pictures are going to be on the placards for everybody to see them worldwide and know the destroyers of the aviation industry. Unfortunately this Bannerman guy seems not to understand the issues. Ghana cannot give the ultimate approval for SAA to operate the Washington route. The buck stops with the USA FAA that will not accept any Ghana registered airline due to the CAT 2 status. SAA is in CAT 1 and flies to USA already and decided to take advantage of the situation. Of course, SAA needs approval from Ghana just to take off from Accra and that was as easy as that. Bannerman is obviously not a good businessman. If he truly wants to fly his aircraft to the USA, he must license it in another country that enjoys a CAT 1 status with the FAA.

It is simply that Antrak cannot make it,they are not even disciplined,in my recent visit to Ghana on two occasions I saw two of their vehicles driving carelessly on the roads in Tema are without regards to traffic rules,I even had to warn one of the drivers at a point to stop tailgating me,something I hate doing but had to do it because it was too much.
If safety is not what they do on the roads it would be worse in the air,they should just go.

Governments since 2000 have sidelined these EXPERTS, because they are not from the same party or tribe. Yes, the caliber of people at the GCAA, is well known to the FAA. "Partyism", nepotism and tribalism do NOT assure airworthiness of airlines to merit CAT 1 status. Even when Boeing came to establish the Aviation Engineering Dept. at KNUST to be followed with a regional maintenance facility in the country, they were rebuffed; the Ghanaian Expert with them was NOT of the right tribe.
