Go where ? If the BOG is a Government agency-that's what he intimates- isn't it's budget funded by Gov't? In a classic case of a wash transaction, "you put $ in one pocket, takes it out and put it in the other pocket it's the same $."
Or, and I think this is where the "switch" is. Instead of paying fees to the gov't agency, he wants it to be paid to his crony investment advisers. He gave us- the gullible - a hint!
He said, "if we engage anybody we pay those ones."
Folks, I don't have a problem with a gov't agency engaging outside consultants. But, he should play it on the level. Ghanaians, from near and afar are ENGAGED.
In the US, city and state pension trustees engage and pay for outside investment advisers , legally.
So, for this bozo of a minister to seek an amendment to this "Act" with a spurious argument of payments to other gov't agencies-AG's, etc it is so blatantly false it goes way beyond the pale.
Unless, of course he thinks that Ghanaians and their elected officials with their collective deliberative body -parliament - are simpletons and that's how the narrative should be homed.
God, Africa just need good governance.
It's not much to ask for, is it?
Anyway, God bless this minister if he can get this amendment passed through, hopefully, an engaged parliament.
